Not just a LUT

Color grading matters

LUT packs are stupid.

When I started posting videos to YouTube, I swore I would never sell a LUT pack. Frankly, I think LUTs are a huge waste of money. Not every look will work with every camera, lighting style, or situation. I’ve purchased a few LUT packs throughout my career, and 99% of the time they looked nothing like what was advertised. There are simply too many variables at play.

In the film industry, LUTs are used as a preview and are carefully crafted ahead of time with the cinematographer and colorist to create the exact look they want the film to have. THAT is what I believe in and what I hope to inspire in future filmmakers and creatives. So, with that in mind, here’s what I’ve created instead.

Rather than giving you a limited, pre-made file, I’ve curated a set of node tree templates in DaVinci Resolve, built from my years of experience as both a colorist and cinematographer. Each node is clearly labeled and formatted based on the specific look it’s designed for. The difference is that you get to change, learn, and fine-tune everything to make it specific to YOUR STYLE.

Don’t worry! I’ve also created a detailed tutorial video that walks you through the entire process, including how to export a custom .cube file of your final look to load into your camera. After purchase, you’ll receive access to both the downloadable node tree files and the tutorial video.

This is how professional filmmakers create LUTs and looks for every film they make. So why not follow their example?
